Los Cabos, located on the south end of the Baja California peninsula, is a splendid destination to enjoy the marvels of nature: a desert with a dramatic beauty surrounded by the waters of the Mexican Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortes.
It offers an incredible submarine world with corals and reefs populated by extraordinary marine fauna: colonies of seals, sea lions, and a great variety of species for sport fishing. It is also a gray whale sanctuary.
History
Coveted by conquerors and pirates, Los Cabos was a shelter to fishermen and seamen. Two beautiful yet different cities form it, each one with its own characteristics. A 32 Km. resort tourism corridor joins these cities.
The tranquility and colorful landscapes of San Jose del Cabo, the activity and dynamism of Cabo San Lucas and the luxurious hotels of the tourism corridor offer a fascinating contrast to a place with a history as rich and diverse as all of Mexico's. It has something for every taste. A natural stone arch, "the Arch," formed at the junction of the Sea of Cortes and the Pacific Ocean is a monument to the impressive peculiarities of Los Cabos.
San Jose del Cabo
A city founded in the eighteenth century by Jesuit missionaries. It still keeps its historical essence and picturesque charm.
"Charming" is the word commonly used when describing San Jose del Cabo. The antique buildings in the historical center and the impressive Parroquia San Jose are a treat for the eyes. You will feel comfortable in the quaint atmosphere of the main plaza where the old customs and traditions still prevail and time seems to be just a symbol of the modern world. For all of these reasons and more, you will spend a charming vacation in Los Cabos.
Cabo San Lucas
Cabo San Lucas is a lively city with an abundance of stores and restaurants plus an exciting nightlife. It is located on the southern end of Los Cabos and is actually one of the most famous places in the world to play golf and the favorite destination for divers and sport fishers.
Tourist Corridor
The 32 Km. scenic highway that runs from San Jose del Cabo to Cabo San Lucas is, as the San Jose -San Lucas tourism corridor, the location of the largest hotel development in Los Cabos, where some of the most impressive beaches of Baja California Sur are found.
It is located on a spectacular virgin desert landscape, bathed by striking beaches. Here you will be able to enjoy horse rides, snorkeling, diving, whale watching in season, and motorized water sports.

Most of the year is a good season for the different species, such as black marlin, blue marlin, sea bass, jurel, cabrilla and other species.
Thanks to the coveted species inhabiting our oceans and to the infrastructure of our tourist destination, important international fishing tournaments take place here, such as the famous Bisbee Black & Blue Jack Pot. In this tournament more than 200 teams participate with the objective of fishing a blue or black marlin and get the final prize of more than one million dollars. Other important tournaments are the Bisbee East Cape, Billfish Invitational, the Rolex/International Game Fish Association championship tournament, etc.
Due to intense fishing, the “Catch and Release” program was created to assure the continuation of these species without diminishing the excitement of this ancestral sport.
